January 8, 2006 the Oregon Restaurant Association
lost tireless worker and dedicated friend,
Maurine Johnson. She worked for the food
and beverage industry for 33 years and has
left behind a legacy of dedication and inspiration.
Maurine considered herself a life long learner,
and in her honor the Oregon Restaurant Education
Foundation has established a Maurine Johnson
Annual Scholarship. The scholarship will
be awarded annually to a graduating ProStart
student who will be continuing their education
in a restaurant or foodservice program.
OREF is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) charitable
and educational foundation, and all donations
for the scholarship are fully tax deductible.
