2009 Chairman's Ocean Getaway

The annual Chairman's Ocean Getaway was held Nov. 1-2, 2009 in the picturesque coastal town of Cannon Beach. More than 70 people joined ORA Board Chairman Bob Jensen for the once-a-year event, which included an overnight stay and spectacular reception and dinner to remember.

Guests began their evening in the Surfsand Ballroom with a cocktail reception and fresh seafood appetizer buffet. Then, they were treated to an amazing multi-course sit-down dinner prepared by Chef Will Leroux, Executive Chef of the Wayfarer Restaurant in Cannon Beach. Chef Leroux and his culinary team planned and prepared for days to make this one of the most memorable dining experiences of the year!

The Getaway also included overnight accommodations for the evening of November 1st at one of three luxury properties in Cannon Beach … SURFSAND RESORT, THE OCEAN LODGE, and INN AT CANNON BEACH.

Presenting Sponsor for this year’s event was Food Services of America. In addition, other supporting sponsors included Pacific Seafood, Columbia Distributing, Martin Hospitality, and Escape Lodging. Without the generosity and partnership of these faithful sponsors and ORA members, the Chairman’s Getaway would not be possible.

The Getaway is an annual benefit for ORPAC, the Oregon Restaurant Association Political Action Committee. This advocacy committee supports pro-business, pro-industry candidates for public office as part of the greater goal to promote and protect the foodservice and hospitality industry in Oregon.
