  • 2010 ProStart High School Championships

    February 6, 2010 - Oregon Expo Center, Portland, OR


    This February over 200 high school students and teachers representing more than thirty ProStart programs around the state will gather at the Oregon Expo Center to compete for the Boyd’s Culinary Cup trophy at this year’s ProStart Culinary Competition. Support your favorite ProStart school by attending this annual event where students are tasked with creating a three course meal using only two butane burners.

    April 1, 2010 — Hilton Hotel, Portland, OR

    Join us on Thursday, April 1st for the largest hospitality industry fundraiser of the year. It may be April Fool’s Day, but this auction and dinner are no joke! Join your fellow industry movers and shakers for an evening benefitting Oregon Restaurant Association’s Political Action Committee.

  • Northwest Foodservice Show

    April 18-19, 2010 - Washington State Convention & Trade Center, Seattle, WA


    Former exhibitors, if you exhibited at the 2008 show, the last time the show was hosted in Seattle, you have a booth available for reclaim. The reclaim period for the 2010 show continues through July 15th. Exhibitors who had booths at the 2009 show in Portland but were not at the last Seattle show, as well as 2008 exhibitors who are requesting booths different from what they had on the show floor that year have first priority for booths that are not reclaimed by July 15th, and will be allocated space based on their requests in the order, by date, in which completed Applications for Exhibit Space with deposit are received. The best available booths always get reserved early, so get yours in today.

    New exhibitors and those who may have last exhibited prior to 2008 may also submit Applications for Exhibit Space and will be assigned space based on their choices after placement of recent former exhibitors who have submitted their Applications by July 15th.

    After July 15, all booths to be reserved on a first come-first reserved basis.

    The Oregon Restaurant Association, in partnership with the National Restaurant Association, is seeking applications for the 2010 Faces of Diversity Awards. The awards program recognizes the restaurant industry’s diversity and the role it plays in helping people achieve the American dream. The awards honor people who realized their American dreams and companies that show leadership as advocates of diversity and inclusion.   • 2009 Chairman's Ocean Getaway

    November 1-2, 2009 - Cannon Beach, OR

    The annual Chairman's Ocean Getaway was held Nov. 1-2, 2009 in the picturesque coastal town of Cannon Beach. More than 70 people joined ORA Board Chairman Bob Jensen for the once-a-year event, which included an overnight stay and spectacular reception and dinner to remember.

  • ORA Convention 2009 – Back to Basics…and Beyond!

    September 20-22, 2009 - Sunriver, OR

    Grow your business, network and discover new ways to be profitable by attending this year’s ORA Convention.

    This year ORA brought together in one place the elite of Oregon’s hospitality industry to share knowledge of new strategies for their businesses' profitability.

    Industry members attended the 2009 ORA Convention and made new contacts to stay competitive. Attendees also brought members of their management staff and received a discount on registration - they also learned and built their industry relationships while having fun together in this year’s interactive workshops, Molecular Science in the Kitchen and Urban Mixology. Attendees also found out how to Create Customers for Life from top-performing business leaders, and learned how to Maximize your “Social Network” and increase your businesses' efficiency without spending a dime! Attendees also celebrated the synergy of our industry with Oregon’s finest as part of the annual industry Awards of Recognition, featuring some of Oregon’s finest craft spirits, craft beers and local wines in addition to acknowledging this year’s Restaurateur of the Year, Vendor of the Year, Industry Achievement and Community Service award winners..

  • 2009 ORA Open

    July 7, 2009 - Langdon Farms Golf Club

    ORA held its annual golf tournament at Langdon Farms Golf Club in Aurora. One of ORA's most popular events, the ORA Open supports a stronger advocacy effort strengthening Oregon's business climate.

  • Northwest Foodservice Show


    March 29-30, 2009 - Oregon Convention Center, Portland, OR

    More than 7500 attendees registered for The Greatest Show in the Northwest!, a restaurant and foodservice extravaganza of a trade show in the mold of an old time circus that featured 441 vendor booths, New and Green Products Showcases, live chef demonstrations, free educational seminars and entertainment by the Kader Klowns. Jointly produced by both the Oregon and Washington Restaurant Associations, the annual Northwest Foodservice Show is the region’s largest industry event.

  • One Big Night

    March 11, 2009 - Governor Hotel, Portland


    Annual PAC Auction and Dinner

    Attendees came from across the state to celebrate, mix and mingle for one very important cause –the hospitality industry. Nearly 250 industry elite attended the 2009 One Big Night Pac Auction & Dinner truly making this year’s event a success, echoing that even in these current economic times the industry still recognizes that there is strength in numbers.

  • Leadership Conference


    September 14-16, 2008 - Sunriver

    The Oregon Restaurant Association executed a superior program full of true networking opportunities discussions on issues that were hitting our industry hard, topics such as Immigration, Menu Labeling, and The Ever Rising Costs of Doing Business.
