Scholarship
Opportunity! ~ CIA changes their awards for
ProStart students
In a change of format for the state culinary
and management championships, the Culinary Institute
of America has decided to open up their scholarships
for all ProStart students, not just the placing
winners at the state competition.
This contest is now open to graduating high
school seniors. To be eligible, students mast
have been an active participant of ProStart
for at least one academic year. These scholarship
applications are due to the Admissions office
of CIA by FEBRUARY 15, 2007. These scholarships
must be used by June 2008.
Each candidate needs to submit a completed
scholarship application (please contact CIA
directly for application form) and finished
essay answering one of the following questions:
Essay Topic 1: Select someone from your life
who embodies leadership qualities that you value.
Discusse three of this person's leadership qualities
and how you value these things as a leader.
(this essay should be a minimum of 500 words)
Essay Topic 2: Please go to a local restaurant
for a meal. Write a complete critique on your
experience in that restaurant from the first

have walked out the door. (This essay should
be a minimum of 500 words)
Thirty winners nationally will be selected for
a one- time $3,000 scholarship. For more information,

doing a demo for the Oregon Diabetes Expo at
the Oregon Convention Center, along with other

SHIFT 2 - 2 people from 11:45 - 2pm for prep,
