ProStart Teachers Take Over Oregon State Fair for Fall Professional Development Meeting

A record number of 60 Oregon ProStart teachers are anticipated to be attending the October 5, 2007 Fall Professional Development Session taking place in Salem at the Oregon State Fairgrounds. Citing Oregon's fore-front connectivity with chefs and farmers, this session will include a brainstorming opportunity to connect culinary students with farmers and producers and reinforce sustainability and local growers. Additionally, the Oregon Blueberry and Oregon Hazelnut commissions will be providing hands-on demos and interaction focused on these Northwest regional ingredients. The event is open to everyone; however non-ProStart teachers wishing to attend must purchase lunches for $15 in advance by emailing: dawn@orefoundation.org.
