Save the Date:
Jr. Iron Chef Competition Returning to the Bite
of Oregon
The Jr. Iron Chef Competition will be returning
to the Bite of Oregon this year on August 10-12.
The four schools competing for the title are:
Willamette High School, South Salem High School,
Taft High School, and Bend High School. Look
for more details on the competition in future
editions of the ProStart E-Newsletter.
Oregon Coast
Culinary Institute to Host High School Competition
The first-annual Oregon Coast Invitational
will feature teams from Hidden Valley, McKay,
West Salem, Myrtle Point, and St. Helens high
schools, as well as two teams representing South
Salem. The competition is starting at 8 a.m.
this Saturday, April 21st at Oregon Coast Culinary
Institute.
Each four-member team will have to prepare a
three-course meal for four in 90 minutes, and
afterwards judges will critique and score the
dishes. Scholarships to attend OCCI will be
awarded to members of the top three teams.

Have Lunch with
the President of Western Culinary Institute
Do you or someone you know have an interest
in a career in the culinary, patisserie, or
management field? If so, have lunch with the
President of Western Culinary Institute and
members of the academics team on Friday, April
27th at noon.
You can enjoy a three course meal as your learn
more about their Le Cordon Bleu Programs, tour
the campus, and find out how you can apply for
school.
