2006 Event A Resounding Success for Students

Record crowds of parents, teachers, administrators, chef mentors and members of the public jammed the Oregon Convention Center for the 2006 State High School Culinary and Management Championships to watch 205 students from around the state compete for the state hospitality titles. Tension mounted as everyone gathered in the morning before the kickoff of the first culinary and case study heats. This year's panel of judges which came from as far away as Denver, Colorado and from all corners of Oregon were thrilled with the level of professionalism and technique that students exhibited throughout the day.

After a day of intense concentration, the final awards winners were revealed during a sold-out banquet attended by supporters eager to learn the placing teams. At the end of the day, all students were winners with the valuable experience they gained by participating in this event and developing their careers in the hospitality industry. The final results of the event are as follows: (For the first time in the history of the ProStart competition, the same school won both championship titles!)
